Ripple drops over 1% as Bitcoin settles

Ripple fell during today's trading in conjunction with the stability of "Bitcoin " amid regulatory pressure and negative statements about the market.

The US Securities and Exchange Commission chairman, J. Clayton, said he saw "Ethereum" and some other cryptocurrencies as not securities offerings.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Board of the Securities and Exchange Commission, "J. Clayton" stated that he is still concerned about protecting investors from the launch of funds backed by Bitcoin.

Clayton stressed that his opinion is neutral in terms of trading on cryptocurrencies, noting that he is not against Bitcoin and other cryptos as assets, but does not support them at the same time.

One of the biggest problems facing the continuity of the Bitcoin is energy, due to the constant need for abundant amounts of electricity to mine bitcoins, and in this regard, a study published by PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) revealed that renewable energy will not be able to sustain the Bitcoin.
