Ripple drops 3% as Bitcoin falls under $5000

Most of the cryptocurrencies fell during today as the market continued to be affected by the IMF Managing Director, Christine Lagarde, who called for more regulatory restrictions on cryptocurrencies on fear of spillover of the crypto market fluctuations into financial markets.

 

The South Korean crypto exchange platform, Bithumb, has received about $200 million from Japan's ST Blockchain Fund.

 

Cryptocurrencies were under pressure last week on profit-taking after jumping sharply in previous sessions.

 

By 20:24 GMT, Ripple fell by 3% to $0.32, with the highest at $0.33 and the lowest at $0.31.

 

Bitcoin fell by 2% to $4,997, with the highest price of the day at $5,200.3 and the lowest price at $4954.2.
