Silver slips off two sessions of gains

Silver fell during the day after gaining in two consecutive sessions, and the metal was under pressure as the dollar gained against most major currencies.

Sources revealed to Bloomberg that the upcoming summit between Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping was postponed from March to April.

There was concern in the markets over the postponement of the summit, and some interpreted it as a deep disagreement that delay further progress in trade negotiations between the two countries.

However, President Trump announced today that reassured that the talks with China were going very well.

On the other hand, by 19:02 GMT, the dollar index (against a number of major currencies) rose by 0.3% to 96.7 points, the highest at 96.8 points and the lowest at 96.4 points.

Silver futures (May delivery) fell 1.8% to $15.171 an ounce, and the metal hit a high of $15.47 and a low of $15.135.
