Palladium prices rose in American trade to record highs as the dollar index gave up ground, ahead of US services data while markets look forward to the results of ongoing US-China trade talks in Beijing.

As of 02:40 GMT, palladium futures rose 0.24% to $1,305.35 an ounce, marking record highs, while the dollar index slid 0.44% to 95.75.

Now investors await US data on the ISM services PMI, expected to have slipped to 59.6 in December from 60.7.
