US oil inventories rise for the first week in 5

The US Energy Information Administration (EIA) revealed today that the US oil inventories rose by 1.1 million barrels, to a total of 417.1 million barrels, surpassing forecasts of a drop by 2 million.

 

The gasoline inventories rose by 800,000 barrels to 229.7 million barrels, while the distillate inventories rose by 400,000 to 136.7 million barrels during last week.

 

Yesterday, the American Petroleum Institute (API) revealed in preliminary data that the inventories rose by 592,000 barrels.
