Brent trims gains as WTI falls below $58

Oil prices saw a mixed performance today, as West Texas fell to shed earlier gains, while Brent trimmed its gains ahead of US inventories data.

 

The American Petroleum Institute (API) will release preliminary data on US oil inventories later today, while the official data will be released tomorrow by the Energy Information Administration (EIA).

 

As of 16:49 GMT, US dollar index rose by 0.5% to 98.3 points, with an intraday high of 98.4 and a low of 98.2.

 

By 16:45 GMT, WTI rose fell by by 0.3% to $57.6 a barrel, with a high of $58.7 and a low of $57.3 .

 

Brent rose by 0.3% to $62.7 a barrel, with a high of $63.7 and a low of $62.3.
