Copper rises over 1% as dollar holds

Copper prices rose on Monday, as the US dollar held against most currencies, thanks to optimism about containing the coronavirus pandemic.
The FDA has given last week full approval for the Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.
US President Joe Biden urged citizens who were hesitant or afraid of the vaccine to take it as soon as possible after it was fully approved.
While Moderna has submitted a request to the US authorities to obtain full approval for its vaccine.
The dollar index held against a basket of major currencies at 92.7 points as of 13:43 GMT, after hitting a high of 92.7 points and a low of 92.6 points.
Copper December futures rose 1.2% to $4.38 per pound as of 13:37 GMT.
