Copper prices rose slightly today after President Trump's remarks on the resumption of the trade talks with China.
Which comes after the recent escalation between the two countries, after China announced an additional tariffs on $75 billion worth of US imports, while President Trump ordered US companies to find an alternative to China, in addition to announcing a tariff increase to 30% from 25% on Chinese imports as of October 1st.
Trump also announced that his administration will impose a 15% tariffs on imports of Chinese goods worth $300 billion, as of September 1st.
As of 14:36 GMT, copper futures (December delivery) rose by 0.1% to $2.54 per pound, with a high of $2.55 and a low of $2.49.
