Toyota Middle East sales jump 6% in the first half of 2014

Sales of Japanese carmaker Toyota in the Middle East accelerated 6% in the first half of 2014, the company said in a statement on Sunday.

Toyota’s sales of 356,805 units in the first two quarter of this year were broadly diversified across its collection of Sedans, SUVs and Pickups,

The new look Yaris Sedan witnessed growth of 63% in the first half, selling 27,823 units. Sales of the RAV4 increased 34%, while sales of the Land Cruiser SUV climbed 4%.

The notable growth in sales reflects Toyota’s success in terms of developing more compelling products to consumers in the Middle East, and also firms Toyota’s leadership in the region.

Toyota’s appeal to consumers in the Middle East, a region with massive growth prospects will continue to boost the carmaker’s profits and revenue and affirm that it will continue to be a vital market.

Toyota’s shares climbed 1.14% in Tokyo on Monday, the first gain in five sessions, bucking Japan’s stock market decline.
