Released by the Canadian economy at 12:30 GMT, the monthly retail sales lower by 0.1% in August, worse than expectations, which showed an increase of 0.5%, and the previous reading revised to a decline of 0.2% from a drop of 0.1%, and excluding energy and food sales for the same month increased by 0.0%, worse than expectations of a rise of 0.4%, slightly better than the previous decline of 0.2% that was revised from a decline of 0.1%.
This is a negative statement for the Canadian dollar.
