Silver prices wavered on Friday but headed for the third weekly profit in a row after managing to hit a nine-week high earlier in the week.
Silver last traded at $17.00 an ounce, compared the opening price of $16.99, with a session-high at $17.14, and a low at $16.80.
Silver wavered today amid a lack of direction in the markets and with thin trading volumes, as investors witness Donald Trump's inauguration, causing wavering in commodity prices.
On the other hand, Wall Street rose today on optimism about Trump, which weighed on the white metal, considered a safe haven if stocks tumbled, while the dollar moves in sideways as well.
The dollar index, tracking the greenback against a basket of currencies, fell to 101.05 from the opening of 101.16, with an intraday low at 100.83, and a high at 101.49, with the index heading for a weekly loss despite paring most losses.
