Silver hovers near four-month low

Silver prices hovered today near a four-month trough hit yesterday, amid political tensions in the markets that buoyed haven demand.

Silver last traded at $16.19 an ounce, same as the opening, with an intraday high at $16.32, and a low at $16.11.

Silver's current wavering comes amid higher demand on the safe haven, after U.S. president Trump fired FBI chief James Comey, heating tensions in the markets.

On the other hand, gold regained its footing today, buoying silver even as the dollar rose against a basket of currencies.
