Gold hovers near yesterday's lows

Gold prices declined to near yesterday's lows as the dollar gained ground ahead of the Federal Reserve's policy meeting.

Optimism is mounting in the market after the US-North Korea summit in Singapore, slashing haven demand on gold.

Otherwise, Asian stocks dipped on Wednesday, which usually paves the way for increased demand on gold, however prospects of a US rate hike kept the pressure on the yellow metal.

Gold prices inched down to $1,295.20 an ounce from the opening of $1,294.99, with an intraday low at $1,294.66, and a high at $1,296.04.
