Corn prices tumbled over one percent as the dollar index rose according to their inverse relation, which follows earlier data from the U.S., the world's largest corn producer and exporter.
As of 08:11 GMT, corn futures due on July 15 fell 1.34% to $366.75 a bushel from the opening of $371.75, with an intraday low at $366.00, and a high at $374.50, while the dollar index rose 0.31% to 99.09 from the opening of 98.79.
The U.S. National Weather Service said today that "extreme thunder storms are possible after today's noon", while pointing to a high wave that's near New Mexico, paving the way for more thunder storms in the warm sector on the surroundings of the slow cold movements, while flash floods are possible today in eastern Oklahoma and western Arkansas.
